Reminder: E-Recycling, March of Dimes This Weekend

-

Have a drawer, box or closet filled with old and unused electronics? Tomorrow Keep Carroll Beautiful will be holding their spring Electronics Recycling Event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Southwire Corporate Parking Lot at One Southwire Drive in Carrollton.

Volunteers will be accepting all types of electronics, including: computers, monitors, laptops, printers, fax machines, 8-tracks, microwave ovens, stereos, copiers, telephones, radios, CD players, cell phones and scanners. Recycling is free with the exception of televisions which will be accepted for a $10.00 fee. Console and projection TVs are not being accepted at this time.

Also set for Saturday is West Georgia Technical College's Motorcycle Ride to benefit the March of Dimes. Registration will take place between 9 a.m. through 10 p.m. at the Carroll Campus' west parking lot and the LaGrange Campus' east campus "D" Building. The registration fee for bikers is $25 and the rider's registration fee is $10 with all proceeds benefiting the March of Dimes.

Kickstands go up at 10 a.m., and all riders will travel to and meet at the new Franklin site for a short respite, then will travel to Texas Roadhouse in Newnan for lunch. All riders will be responsible for their own lunch tabs. During registration and while placing orders at the destination, raffle tickets will be sold for items that local businesses have donated. Each registrant will receive one complimentary raffle ticket and a ride t-shirt, which are available while supplies last.
