Dust off your cowboy boots August 10 for West Georgia Technical College’s annual fundraiser Black Tie & Boots featuring Montgomery Gentry.

“We are excited to have Montgomery Gentry as this year’s Black Tie & Boots headliner,” said Dawn Cook, VP of Institutional Advancement. “The community has come to expect this event to be an unforgettable evening and this year will not disappoint!”

The country duo follows the footsteps of Blake Shelton, Josh Turner, Gary Allen, and last year’s performer Little Big Town who all have rocked the stage at the Murphy Campus.

WGTC Foundation Presents Gifts to Local Organizations Fighting Cancer

The West Georgia Technical College Foundation presented the Hope for the Journey Foundation, the West Georgia Health Foundation and the Cancer Treatment Centers of America® at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Newnan each with a $1,000 check.

“The Foundation is honored to contribute to local organizations that bring awareness to a devastating disease,” said Dawn Cook, Vice President of Institutional Advancement. “Their work touches the lives of our friends and loved ones and we are delighted to invest in it.”

WGTC Gears Up for Holidays with Project Care

The holiday season can be a joyful time to spend with our family and friends but stressful to those who have difficulty meeting basic needs. West Georgia Technical College aims to ease that burden on families with Project CARE.

Project CARE is the community assistance initiative of the West Georgia Technical College Foundation to help students and employees with their basic needs. It consists of both financial assistance and a food pantry to help students, faculty and staff.

New Website Addresses HOPE Changes

The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) unveiled a new website today that’s loaded with information about the recent changes to Georgia’s HOPE Grant and Scholarship program.  

The www.tcsg.edu/HOPE website is a great resource for current West Georgia Technical College students as well as prospective college students, both young and old, to get the latest facts about earning and keeping their HOPE program benefits.
