Master Gardeners Plant at Little Tallapoosa Park

Members of the Carroll County Master Gardeners spent a part of their morning planting various flowers and bushes around the sign at Little Tallapoosa Park in Carrollton. The Master Gardeners plan to be a big part of this year's second annual Old Time County Fair at the park.

Carroll Rec & Central H.S. Offering Summer Camps

Looking for a way your kids can get out of the house and get some exercise? The Carroll County Recreation Department and Central High School have teamed up to offer three weeks of sports-focused summer camps beginning this June. All the camps cost $30 per participant and are held at on the Central High School campus and run by the school's coaches.

Keeping the Dust Down

For the fourth straight year, Carroll County road crews are busy spraying area dirt roads with a calcium chloride solution in an effort to keep down dust, and residents who live on those unpaved roads are certainly clamoring for the treatment.

“Everybody who lives on a dirt road wants it, but there isn’t any way we can spray every dirt road in the county,” said Public Works Superintendent Charles Pope.

From "Trash" Into (Artistic and Useful) Gold

Since the SCRAP Bin first opened its doors in late 2010r, it has helped numerous local teachers and creatives turn what was one person’s trash into unique works of art.

The Bin, which is in association with Keep Carroll Beautiful, was made possible by funding from the Community Foundation of West Georgia, and it traces its roots back to the formation of the SCRAP Bin Board of Directors in October of 2009.
