Since the SCRAP Bin first opened its doors in late 2010r, it has helped numerous local teachers and creatives turn what was one person’s trash into unique works of art.

The Bin, which is in association with Keep Carroll Beautiful, was made possible by funding from the Community Foundation of West Georgia, and it traces its roots back to the formation of the SCRAP Bin Board of Directors in October of 2009.

Trash Clean Up Walk Rescheduled to May 9th

Carroll County Parks and the Carroll County Junior ROTC Trash Walkers have rescheduled their trash walk. It will now be held on Thursday, May 9th, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The walk will start at Eureka Church at the corner of Hwy 16 and John Tanner Beach Road and continue to downtown Mt. Zion. It's a great opportunity to spend some time outdoors and help beautify the Mt. Zion community.

Carroll County Awarded $100K Conservation Grant

Carroll County recently finalized a $100,000 Land and Water Conservation Fund grant for the development and rehabilitation of the 485-acre Moore’s Bridge Park.

The county is required a cash match of $50,000 for the grant, which will be paid from the 2003 and 2008 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.

In 2009, Carroll County purchased the parkland from the Trust for Public Land for use as passive recreation. The land is located near Whitesburg, running adjacent to the Chattahoochee River for 1.4 miles.
