For the third straight year, inmates at the Carroll County Prison are busy preparing the ground near the Public Works Department for their inmate garden. Not only will the garden offset some of the costs of feeding the inmates, said Deputy Warden Tim Tant, but it also gives them life skills for when they’re released.
“It’s really just to help as far as the inmates go,” he said. “It gives them some fresh vegetables and some pride in growing their own food.”
