Three gravestones. If connected on a map, they’d form an obtuse triangle, cornering off the southwest tip of Carroll County, pointing down through the heart of Georgia and into the Gulf of Mexico. Collectively, they’re separated by less than 35 road miles; a visitor could see each of the three in several hours with time to spare for a quick lunch.

The Southeastern Quilt & Textile Museum in downtown Carrollton is currently hosting the beautiful work of the Cherokee Crazy Quilters Guild from Canton. The Cherokee Crazy Quilters Guild consist of over 50 members that meet weekly for classes, demos, field trips, quilt camps and charity events. The exhibit is an excellent opportunity to experience some of north Georgia’s quilting talent and culture.

Parade Honoring Martin Luther King Jr. To Be Held This Saturday

This Saturday, February 9th, the Carroll County chapter of the NAACP will hold their annual Martin Luther King Jr. and African-American History Month parade though Adamson Square in downtown Carrollton. The parade is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate the legacy of MLK and African-American History Month while enjoying Carrollton’s beautiful downtown.
